A hoped-for return to tradition, in the form of a Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes concert at the Stone Pony Summer Stage on Fourth of July Week, won’t be happening this year.
Because of ongoing COVID-19 concerns, and with socially distancing impossible at the Summer Stage, the July 3 show has been postponed to Labor Day Weekend (Sat., Sept. 4). Tickets for the original show will be honored. Visit Ticketmaster.com.
Tickets to the band’s May 29-30 socially distanced shows at the Suneagles Golf Club in Eatontown are also available through Ticketmaster.
They will also perform at the City Winery’s Concerts in the Vineyard series in Montgomery, N.Y., June 19. And they have a show at the Ocean City Music Pier, July 5.
The Stone Pony, the Asbury Park venue where the Jukes got their start 45 years ago, still has several shows scheduled for later in the summer, including the Sad Summer Festival (with All Time Low, The Story So Far and others), July 25; the Spirit of the South Festival (with Blackberry Smoke, The Allman Betts Band and others), Aug. 13; Brothers Osborne, Aug. 19; and Deftones and Gojira, Aug. 28.
All will be on the club’s outdoor Summer Stage. Nothing is currently scheduled inside the club until Coin, on Dec. 17.
