The “Spirit of the South” concert at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park that had been scheduled for Aug. 13 has been postponed after headliner Blackberry Smoke’s guitarist Paul Jackson tested positive for COVID-19. The Allman Betts Band and The Wild Feathers are also performing on the tour, which is subtitled “A Celebration of Southern Rock and Roll Music.”

The Stone Pony Summer Stage show will now take place on Aug. 29. Previously purchased tickets for the show, originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed because of the pandemic, will be honored. Tickets are also on sale via Ticketmaster.

Several other shows on the tour have been postponed as well.

Blackberry Smoke posted on Facebook on Tuesday that Jackson had been experiencing COVID symptoms and had tested positive, and that the band would not be able to perform in Jacksonville that night, as planned.

Jackson is an original member of the group, which came together in Atlanta about 20 years ago.

The Stone Pony postponement, and others, were announced late last night.
