Alanis Morissette has postponed her Sept. 1 PNC Bank Arts Center show.

With thunderstorms forecast and tornadoes and flooding possible for the area, Alanis Morissette has postponed her concert tonight (Sept. 1) with Garbage and Cat Power at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.

“Due to severe weather and flash flood + tornado warnings in the area, tonight’s show at PNC Bank Arts Center has been cancelled,” the venue posted on Facebook at 4:45 p.m. (the show had been scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.). “Refunds will automatically be processed at point of purchase. Everyone stay safe and thank you for understanding!!”

Morissette tweeted at 5 p.m.: “because of severe weather we are forced to cancel tonight’s show at @PNCArtsCenter. Unfortunately scheduling won’t permit a new date so refunds will be available to all ticket holders at point of purchase. … we will see you next time around or at another show. stay safe out there. so sorry. we love you.”

The show had originally been scheduled for July 1, 2020, with Liz Phair on the bill instead of Cat Power, but was postponed because of the pandemic.

The tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of Morissette’s breakthrough album, 1995’s Jagged Little Pill, which is also the title of a current jukebox musical using its songs, on Broadway.

Why did PNC wait until the last minute to cancel the show? I had already traveled earlier in the day. It should have been cancelled earlier in the day. This is unacceptable.

Considering we all knew this was coming, why would you even make the trip. Shame on you, not them.
