Actor Steve Buscemi will participate in “Being Buscemi: An Eve With Steve!,” an intimate benefit for the New York-based Friends of Firefighters organization, hosted by director-actor Kevin Smith. It will take place at Smith’s SModCastle in the Leonardo section of Middletown, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m., and be streamed live.
“On 9/10, find out what it’s like to be a living legend!,” Smith tweeted on Aug. 29.
SModCastle is Smith’s podcast theater, named after his own SModcast podcast (the first two letters stand for Smith and co-host Scott Mosier) and his SModcast Podcast Network. It opened this summer and bills itself as “New Jersey’s Only Podcast Theater.”
Tickets are $200 for general admission, $300 for VIP seating. Only 48 will be sold. Visit smodcastle.com.
The event can also be streamed live via Tiltify, with donations to Friends of Firefighters accepted.
Buscemi and Smith are both members of the advisory council of Friends of Firefighters, which provides mental health counseling and wellness services to New York City Fire Department members and their relatives. Buscemi is a former department member who returned to service in the days after 9/11, to assist in the search for survivors at Ground Zero.
