New Jersey’s leading children’s theater, The Growing Stage in Netcong, will return to in-person shows for its 40th anniversary season, starting November.
The shows will be:
“The Story of The Nutcracker,” Nov. 26-Dec. 19. Book by Stephen L. Fredericks and Perry Arthur Kroeger, music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. An original Growing Stage theatrical adaptation of the classic ballet.
“Boogie,” Feb. 11-27. Written by Angelle Whavers. A child troubled by nightmares comes face to face with the Boogieman himself and learns a valuable lesson.
“Pinkalicious,” March 18-April 10. Book and lyrics by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, music and lyrics by John Gregor. Based on the popular children’s book.
“Time Again in Oz,” May 6-22. Book by Suzan Zeder, music by Richard Gray. Based on the 1907 children’s book “Ozma of Oz” (by “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” author L. Frank Baum) and featuring further adventures of Dorothy.
“Georgia Mae Unplugs America,” July 9-30. Written by Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder. A girl, frustrated that her older siblings are so wrapped up in their electronic devices that they ignore her, shuts down the power grid, then restores it with their help.
