Reagan Richards, best known as the dynamic lead vocalist in the Jersey-based country-pop duo Williams Honor, will do something a little different on Dec. 19, singing Great American Songbook material in a show titled “with love, reagan” at the Columbian Hall at the Knights of Columbus in South Amboy.
For tickets, visit eventbrite.com. All tickets will include a meet-and-greet, show poster, light fare, drinks and dessert.
The show is sponsored by Mattsson’s Auto Tech of Sayreville and dedicated to Richards’ mother Harriet, a former big band singer, who is planning to attend.
Richards will be joined at the show by guitarist Stephen Bryant, keyboardist Michael Ghegan, drummer Tom Cottone and bassist Ron Haney. She says it will be a one-time-only event.
“I’ve wanted to do this show for so long and I finally got a small window right now while we’re putting the finishing touches on the new Williams Honor record,” she said. “I realize how fortunate I am to have my Mom with me. It gives me such a great feeling knowing she’ll be front row at the show while getting to hear all the music she taught me.”
The term Great American Songbook refers to music written for Broadway, film, and pop and jazz singers from approximately the 1920s to the 1960s — and now considered “standards” — by composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Johnny Mercer.
