In a social media post today, Bruce Springsteen hinted at the imminent release of new music.
“Turn it up tomorrow, September 29th at 10:00 AM ET!,” he writes on his Facebook page.
The post comes with a video you can see below, embedded from YouTube. In it, you hear radio static with snippets of currently unreleased Springsteen music in between, as if someone is moving around the dial.
According to rumors, Springsteen is planning to release a collection of classic soul covers. Again, this is unverified, but according to the rumor, the album would be titled Only the Strong Survive and the songs would be:
“Only the Strong Survive,” Jerry Butler
“Soul Days,” Dobie Gray
“Nightshift,” The Commodores
“Do I Love You,” Frank Wilson
“The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore,” The Walker Brothers
“Turn Back the Hands of Time,” Tyrone Davis
“When She Was My Girl,” The Four Tops
“Hey, Western Union Man,” Jerry Butler
“I Wish It Would Rain,” The Temptations
“Don’t Play That Song,” Aretha Franklin
“Any Other Way,” Jackie Shane
“I Forgot to Be Your Lover,” William Bell
“7 Rooms of Gloom,” The Four Tops
“What Becomes of the Brokenhearted,” Jimmy Ruffin
“Someday We’ll Be Together,” Diana Ross & The Supremes
The radio snippets include part of “Do I Love You,” “Turn Back the Hands of Time” and “Nightshift.” Springsteen also is heard singing “I remember those summer nights down by the Shore,” which is not from any of the songs, but could be an added or altered line.
