Hoboken Fall Arts and Music Festival organizer Geri Fallo has posted on Facebook that this year’s fest, scheduled for Oct. 2, has been cancelled “due to predicted wind gusts of up to 30 MPH.”
But she adds that the city “has relocated two of the free musical performances to the auditorium at Hoboken High School at 800 Clinton St.” Johnston will perform at 3 p.m., followed by Escovedo and the Rant Band at 4:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2:30 p.m.
The Rant Band, which includes Hoboken music scene mainstay James Mastro on guitar, came together as Ian Hunter’s backing band and first backed Escovedo at a Hunter tribute concert at City Winery in New York.

The Arts and Music Festival is an biannual event, so the next one will be in the spring. The date and lineup have not been announced yet; for updates, visit hobokennj.gov/departments/cultural-affairs.
