The lineup has been announced for the main concert of the 2023 edition of the Light of Day festival, taking place at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. It will be:
John Waite
Joe Gruschecky & the Houserockers
Willie Nile
Dave Hause & the Mermaid
Jesse Malin
The Weeklings
Fantastic Cat
Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan
An Intimate Moment featuring Remember Jones and Jeremy Kaplan (of Dogs in a Pile)
Jill Hennessy
Jeffrey Gaines
Williams Honor
Adam Ezra
Ben Arnold
Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise
Judging by the way past Light of Day main concerts have been organized, I would assume that the first eight names on the list (in bold) will perform full band sets, and the last seven will perform shorter acoustic sets.
The festival, which raises money for the fight against Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, will take place from Jan. 7 to Jan. 20, mostly in Asbury Park but also in Montclair, Philadelphia and Manhattan, in addition to Red Bank.
Bruce Springsteen has performed at some prior Light of Day festivals. His appearances have always taken place at the main concert, and never have been announced in advance.
