A free, outdoor ‘cabaret concert’ at Centenary University

“A Music Celebration: A Look Back & Ahead” takes place at Centenary University in Hackettstown, Aug. 20.

Centenary Stage Company and the all-student NEXTstage Repertory, which both present shows regularly at the Lackland Performing Arts Center at Centenary University in Hackettstown, will present a free cabaret concert titled “A Music Celebration: A Look Back & Ahead,” outdoors at the university’s Seay Building, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

The show will feature numbers from past and future CSC and NEXTstage shows, including “Hair,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Avenue Q,” “Rent,” “Nunsense,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Lucky Stiff,” “Into the Woods” and “Young Frankenstein.”

Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, and pre-registration is required. All those attending must also fill out a COVID screening questionnaire. It can be downloaded beforehand at the CSC website, centenarystageco.org, where more information about the show is also available.

Centenary Stage Company is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.
