At the bottom of this page is a gallery of photos taken at the third annual American Music Honors show, presented by The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music, April 26 at The Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

Smokey Robinson, John Fogerty, Emmylou Harris, Tom Morello and Joe Ely were honored at the event, though Ely was not able to attend, due to illness. Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Stevie Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren handled the induction speeches, and performed as well. So did former inductees Jackson Browne and Darlene Love.

Once-in-a-lifetime collaborations included nearly everyone joining forces for a show-closing “This Land Is Your Land”; Robinson, Springsteen and Van Zandt performing Robinson’s “Going to a Go-Go,” and Robinson and Van Zandt dueting on Robinson’s “Tears of a Clown”; and Harris and Scialfa singing Harris’ “Red Dirt Girl” together. Springsteen performed with Morello (“The Ghost of Tom Joad”) and Fogerty (“Bad Moon Rising,” “Fortunate Son,” “Proud Mary”). Other numbers included Browne’s “Take It Easy,” and Springsteen’s “Tenth Avenue Freeze-out.”

Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul band backed all of the artists, and also saluted the inductees with five songs by themselves, at the start of the evening.
