Bobby Bandiera and Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers will perform at a preview party for the “Springsteen: His Hometown” exhibition at the Monmouth County Historical Association in Freehold.

The event, titled “Dancing in the Dark,” will take place Sept. 28 at MCHA, with tickets going on sale Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.; visit springsteenhishometown.com. Food and drinks will be served, and there will also be an auction of “rare memorabilia and entertainment items,” according to a press release. MSNBC’s Brian William will serve as honorary chair.

Tickets are priced from $250 to $5,000, with proceeds benefiting the MCHA’s efforts to preserve and celebrate Monmouth County history.

“Springsteen: His Hometown” will feature more than 150 items belonging to the MCHA and The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch. It will officially open on Sept. 29 and close at some point in the fall of 2020.

The preview party will also celebrate the 100th centennial of Freehold borough, and will take place five days after Springsteen’s 70th birthday.
