As you may have heard, today is Giving Tuesday. And The Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank has used the occasion to announce a new initiative undertaken with Bank of America, for 2023. One dollar from every ticket sold during the year will aid a local nonprofit organization, with a different beneficiary chosen each month.
In addition to up to $15,000 each, the 12 organizations will receive complimentary tickets to distribute to its volunteers and/or beneficiaries.
“In addition to our work in arts education, from classrooms in under-resourced communities to professional development opportunities for teachers, we have world-renowned performing artists on our stages almost every evening,” said Basie Center board chairperson Jeremy Grunin, in a press release. “We recognize the platform that affords us, and we feel it’s right to use that platform to highlight other organizations attending to vital causes in our region.”
Alberto Garofalo, market president of Bank of America New Jersey, added that “During ‘The Giving Year,’ we’ll use our long-standing partnership and platforms to highlight and reward the efforts of twelve area nonprofit organizations, whose commitments to our region help those who need it the most.”
Organizations interested in being considered for The Giving Year can email thegivingyear@thebasie.org.
Beneficiary organizations will be announced on a month-by-month basis, beginning in mid-December.
