Bernard Fowler, a longtime backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones, will step into a starring role at the Marlboro Music & Food Festival on Sept. 12, singing Stones classics with Marc Ribler & Friends as part of a set titled “Fifty Licks — The Music of the Rolling Stones.” Other participants will include Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens, Steve Conte of the New York Dolls and veteran Shore musicians such as Lance Larson, Tommy LaBella and Sandy Mack.
The “Fifty Licks” set will begin at approximately 8 p.m., after sets, throughout the day, by the Spider Daniels Band, the Xol Azul Band, Smoke and Mirrors, RockIt!, Dead Bank and Little Jimmy and the Starlites.
The all-day event, which takes place at 1979 Township Drive in Marlboro, also includes the Wounded Warrior Motorcycle Run. There will be no admission charge, though donations are suggested, and will go to the Marlboro Sunshine Fund, which supports New Jersey military veterans in need.
