BRENDA K. STARR

Brenda K. Starr — best known for ’80s and early ’90s dance-pop hits such as “I Still Believe,” “What You See Is What You Get” and “No Matter What” — will headline this year’s edition of the free Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival, which will take place on May 18.

The complete music lineup is not available yet. But, as usual, there be performances throughout the afternoon — along with arts and food vendors and other attractions — on Hoboken’s main drag, Washington Street, from Observer Highway to Seventh Street.

The festival usually attracts more than 30,000 attendees. There is also a one-day Fall Arts & Music Festival, annually.

In recent years, Starr, who was born and raised in New York, has focused on salsa music. Some of her latest singles, including 2017’s “No Ves que te Amo” and 2022’s 2020’s “Tu Vida en la Mia,” have made the Top 40 of Billboard magazine’s Tropical chart.
