Bruce Springsteen, who has been spending much of his life recently presenting “Springsteen on Broadway” shows at the Walter Kerr Theatre, traveled about 15 blocks south Wednesday night — to Madison Square Garden, where Billy Joel was performing for the 100th time. There, he joined Joel and and Joel’s band to sing “Tenth Avenue Freeze-out” (with Joel playing the song’s prominent piano riff) and sing and play guitar on “Born to Run.” You can watch a video of the two songs, below.
Joel began playing Madison Square Garden once a month in January 2014, and has shows scheduled through December of this year, with more expected to be added.

Springsteen also announced, Wednesday, plans to show a film version of “Springsteen on Broadway” on Netflix, starting in December. He did the taping before an invited audience before heading down to the Garden.
