The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that special guests for its “30th Anniversary Performance” at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, Aug. 2, will include frontman Billy Corgan’s old friend Courtney Love, along with Chino Moreno (Deftones), Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order), Davey Havok (AFI), Dave Keuning (Killers), Mark Stoermer (Killers) and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray).
According to a press release, the show will feature “a career-spanning setlist, covers, never before seen production, and more surprises.”
The band’s Shiny and Oh So Bright North American tour reunites original members Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin (drums) and ames Iha (guitar), along with Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Jack Bates (bass) and Katie Cole (keyboards).
The show begins at 7 p.m., with Metric opening. Tickets are available via livenation.com.
Corgan and Love dated briefly in the early ’90s, and he collaborated on the 1998 Hole album, Celebrity Skin.
