DAVID SANCIOUS

Original E Street Band keyboardist David Sancious will perform at The Vogel at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Jan. 6. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. Visit ticketmaster.com.

Drummer Will Calhoun, best known as a member of the band Living Colour, will perform with Sancious.

The concert is co-presented by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

Sancious grew up in Belmar, and the E Street Band is named after the street there on which Sancious’ mother’s home was located. The band sometimes practiced there.

Sancious played on Springsteen’s first three albums before leaving the E Street Band to tour and record with his own jazz fusion group, Tone. He later worked with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Eric Clapton, Santana, Seal and many others.
