Foreigner to present reunion show in Atlantic City

by JAY LUSTIG

Current and past members of Foreigner will perform together at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Nov. 30.

Current and past members of Foreigner, including singer Lou Gramm, will perform together at the Etess Arena at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Nov. 30, with tickets going on sale through Ticketmaster Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. (pre-sales begin Aug. 8 at 10 a.m.).

Gramm was the group’s lead singer throughout its ’70s and ’80s glory days, though Kelly Hansen has filled that role since 2005.

Joining Gramm, Hansen and guitarist Mick Jones (the band’s co-founder and current leader) at the shows will be current members Tom Gimbel (guitar, sax), Jeff Pilson (bass), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums), along with original members Dennis Elliott (drums), Al Greenwood (keyboards) and Ian McDonald (guitar, sax). Rick Wills, who played bass in the band from 1979 to 1991, will participate in the reunion as well; original bassist Ed Gagliardi died in 2014.

To celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary, Gramm, McDonald and Greenwood participated in a July 20, 2017 concert at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., in July 2017, and Elliott performed with the band at an August 2017 concert at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. Greenwood and McDonald also performed with Foreigner at Jones Beach in June of this year, and original band members participated in a reunion at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip festival in South Dakota, Aug. 4.

In addition to the Atlantic City show, there will be two reunion shows in California, in November, and one in Connecticut, in December. For information, visit foreigneronline.com.
