The Celtic-rock band Screaming Orphans, blues luminary Joanna Connor, singer-songwriter Susan Werner and a Light of Day benefit concert featuring Joe D’Urso and Emily Duff will be among the offerings of Woodbridge’s annual free summer concert series, which always is among the best in the state.
There will be national acts on Wednesdays, local bands on Thursdays, country music on Sundays, oldies on Mondays and tribute bands on Tuesdays, plus “Fun Fridays.”
The Wednesday shows will take place at Parker Press Park.
Thursday concerts will be at Herbert Rankin Park in Sewaren, and Friday shows will be at Anchors Tiki Bar in Sewaren.
The Woodbridge High School Concert Field will be the site for the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday concerts.
In addition to these shows, there will be a free, all-day Woodbridge Summerfest, on Sat., June 7 at Merrill Park in Iselin, with Moroccan Sheepherders, The Powertones, Bruce Springsteen tribute group The B Street Band, and others, plus food trucks, a beer garden, and children’s activities.
