GEDDY LEE
The band Rush has no plans to do any more touring, but singer-bassist Geddy Lee will undertake a book tour later this year, and the first signing will be at Bookends in Ridgewood, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m.
The book he will be promoting is “Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass: A Compendium of the Rare, Iconic, and Weird.” It’s a 408-page coffee table book with photos of 250 basses from Lee’s collection.
According to a press release: “Written in Geddy’s singular voice, this book reveals the stories, songs, and history behind the instruments of his inimitable collection.”
The book also features interviews with bassists such as John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Adam Clayton of U2, Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, Les Claypool of Primus and Robert Trujillo of Metallica. Lee’s Rush bandmate Alex Lifeson contributed a foreword, as did vintage instrument expert Terry Foster.
The book will be released by the HarperCollins imprint Harper Design on Dec. 18.
