Gov. Christie explains his love for ‘Born to Run’ in anniversary statement

Gov. Christie took a moment out from campaigning today to reflect on the 40th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run album, saying it’s “my desert island disc” and “the most powerful rock album of my lifetime” as well as an album that “spoke to me” when he was 12, and it was first released.

Below is the complete text of Christie’s tweet on the subject.

Christie has long been on record as a Springsteen superfan, though he made news in July when he said he prefers Jon Bon Jovi to The Boss. He he later recanted, though, saying that he responded that way because Bon Jovi is more of a friend, but that he still prefers Springsteen’s music.
