Gregory Porter, Fourplay and more at Exit 0 Jazz Festival: A video preview

Exit 0 Jazz Festival

Gregory Porter will perform at the Exit 0 Jazz Festival, Nov. 11.

The fall edition of the biannual Exit 0 Jazz Festival — which is now in its sixth year — will feature 20 acts playing 50 sets at theaters, bars and restaurants throughout Cape May, Nov. 10-12. As you can tell from the videos below, the festival’s definition of “jazz” is a very broad one; bands that draw heavily from soul, R&B, rock, pop, Latin and other forms of music are featured. There is also, as is customary for this festival, a strong New Orleans/Louisiana flavor to much of the music.

Fourplay and Gregory Porter will co-headline with concerts at the Schmidtchen Theater at Lower Cape May Regional High School, Nov. 10 and 11, respectively. And a pre-festival concert, featuring the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, will take place at the Cape May Convention Hall, Nov. 9, as a benefit for MusicConnects Cape May, the festival’s educational outreach arm.

Here is the schedule, as well as videos for all of the acts.
