Guitar virtuosos Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo will honor two great New Jersey guitarists who died last year — Bucky Pizzarelli and Lou Pallo — as well as three who died between 2004 and 2016 (Les Paul, Tony Mottola and Al Caiola) in a “virtual concert” that will be the New Jersey Jazz Society’s January Jazz Social.

The performance — which will take place at Vignola’s home in Warwick, N.Y., and can be seen at facebook.com/NewJerseyJazzSociety, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. — will a include a song or two in tribute to each of the late New Jersey guitarists.

Vignola considered Pizzarelli his mentor, and played with him and Raniolo several times at the annual Morristown Jazz and Blues Festival.

“Without Bucky Pizzarelli, we would not know jazz guitar as it is today,” Vignola has said.

Vignola and Raniolo released a joint album, Melody Magic, on the Azica label, last year. Vignola’s 2015 PBS special, “Four Generations”, featured Raniolo as well as Pizzarelli, Tommy Emmanuel and others.
