Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison and Talking Heads touring member Adrian Belew, who brought their Remain in Light Tour — featuring songs from the great 1980 Talking Heads album of that name and more — to The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville in March, will include a New Jersey show on the tour’s summer-of-2024 leg as well. They will be at The Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway on Aug. 3.
Tickets go on sale Dec. 15 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.; visit ucpac.org.
As was the case in Sayreville, the band Cool Cool Cool will open the show, and members of that band, plus bassist Julie Slick on bass and percussionist Yahuba Garcia-Torres, will perform with Belew and Harrison.
There also will be shows at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, on July 30; and The Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York, on Aug. 4.
In Sayreville, the show included, in addition to the Remain in Light material, other Talking Heads songs such as “Psycho Killer,” “I Zimbra,” “Cities” and “Life During Wartime”; Harrison’s solo single “Rev It Up”; and “Thela Hun Ginjeet” from Belew’s years in King Crimson.
