MARTIN SEXTON

Martin Sexton’s May 31 concert at The Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair — at which he will play both The Beatles’ Abbey Road album in its entirety, and a set of his own songs — got a nice plug today from Howard Stern, on his SiriusXM satellite radio show.

“So I’m on the internet,” Stern said, “and I’m watching this guy Martin Sexton and I go, ‘Is this like a famous guy or something?’ … he’s doing a tour right now where he’s playing the entire album of Abbey Road on guitar, and singing. And I’m watching this guy. I go, ‘I’d go see this motherfucker.’ We even went as far as to look up his tour dates … I think he’s got a date in Jersey at some point. But pretty far away in Jersey. But I’d go see this guy. He was so good.”

Stern played some Sexton clips, then talked about him some more.

“Montclair, New Jersey, is a bit of a schlep,” he said, before being told by his co-host Robin Quivers, “It’s right outside of New York City. Stop it.”

Stern replied: “It’s 17 miles from The Lincoln Tunnel. And that’s too far for me.”

“Oh my goodness!” said Quivers. “You’re not walking.”
