Janet Jackson’s upcoming tour will include stops in Newark, Atlantic City

Janet Jackson’s postponed shows in Newark and Atlantic City will be made up in November.

Janet Jackson, whose postponed 2016 tour had been scheduled to include shows in Newark and Atlantic City, has rescheduled the dates. She will now perform at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Nov. 10, and the Prudential Center in Newark on Nov. 19.

Tickets for the original concerts will be honored, and additional tickets will go on sale May 5 at 10 a.m. (for Boardwalk Hall) and May 5 at noon (for the Prudential Center). Visit boardwalkhall.com or prucenter.com.

Jackson, 50, gave birth to her first child, a son, in January.

The tour will be called State of the World, and is scheduled to run in the United States and Canada from Sept. 7 to Dec. 17. “It’s not about politics, it’s about people, the world, relationships and … just love,” Jackson said in a video message to her fans (see below).

The Newark and Atlantic City dates were initially part of Jackson’s Unbreakable Tour. About 40 Unbreakable shows took place in North America and Asia in 2015 and 2016 before the rest of the dates were postponed.

The postponed portion of the Unbreakable Tour had also been scheduled to include a third New Jersey concert, in June 2016 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. There are currently no plans to make up that date.
