One of the all-time great rock guitarists, Jeff Beck, has announced a North American tour, with dates including the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Oct. 10. Tickets go on sale Aug. 19 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. Visit ticketmaster.com.
Beck’s band on the tour will include bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Robert Stevenson.
The two-time Rock and Roll Hall and Famer (inducted both as a member of The Yardbirds and as a solo artist) recently released a collaborative album with Johnny Depp titled 18 and featuring original songs along with covers of material by The Beach Boys (“Caroline, No”), Marvin Gaye (“What’s Going On”), John Lennon (“Isolation”), The Velvet Underground (“Venus in Furs”), Janis Ian (“Stars”) and others.
(AUG. 31 UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that Depp will join Beck’s band for most of the tour, including the Red Bank show.)

The tour is scheduled to run from Sept. 23, in Del Valle, Texas, to Nov. 12, in Reno, Nev. Other Northeast dates will include the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., Oct. 7-8, and The Paramount in Huntington, N.Y., Oct. 14-15.
Beck turned 78 in June.
