The Jersey-based JEM Records label — which previously has released tribute albums celebrating the songwriting of John Lennon, Brian Wilson, Pete Townshend and Ray Davies — has announced the fifth in the series. JEM Records Celebrates Jagger & Richards will be released on May 31.
That, of course, would be Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. The album will be released soon after the band’s two shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, May 23 and 26.
As in previous installments in the series, the album ranges from signature Rolling Stones songs (“Let’s Spend the Night Together,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”) to lesser known material (“Connection,” “Don’t Stop,” “Tell Me”) and some songs that could be described as obscure (“Citadel,” from 1967’s Their Satanic Majesties Request; “Too Tight,” from 1997’s Bridges to Babylon).
Here is a list of the album’s songs, and the bands that will be doing them:
“Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” The Midnight Callers
“Citadel,” The Anderson Council
“Dandelion,” The Grip Weeds
“Tell Me,” Paul Collins
“Too Tight,” The Airport 77s
“Ruby Tuesday,” Nick Piunti
“Star Star,” The Cynz
“We Love You,” The Grip Weeds
“Rocks Off,” The Weeklings
“Connection,” The Anderson Council
“Don’t Stop,” Johnathan Pushkar
“Let’s Spend the Night Together,” The Gold Needles
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” The High Frequencies
