In conjunction with the May 5 release of a “semi-autobiographical” novel, “Memoirs and Misinformation,” Jim Carrey and his co-author, Dana Vachon, will go on a book tour, with stops including the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, May 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The event is being organized by Jersey City’s Word bookstore. Tickets are $35 plus service fees, and include a copy of the book. Visit wordbookstores.com.

Carrey and Vachon will also appear at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on May 5. Tickets to this show go on sale Feb. 21 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales starting Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.; visit ticketmaster.com.

According to the book’s web site, the main character of the novel happens to be named Jim Carrey, and Nicolas Cage and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman are characters in it.

According to the site, it’s “a fearless semi-autobiographical novel, a deconstruction of persona …a story about acting, Hollywood, agents, celebrity, privilege, friendship, romance, addiction to relevance, fear of personal erasure, our ‘one big soul,’ Canada, and a cataclysmic ending of the world — apocalypses within and without.”

Vachon is a journalist and the author of the 2007 novel, “Mergers and Acquisitions.”
