The Super Bowl of professional wrestling, WrestleMania 35, took place April 7 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, and the crowd (numbering 82,265!) got a treat when Joan Jett & the Blackhearts performed “Bad Reputation” live, with fireworks, to welcome Ronda Rousey into the ring. (Watch video below).
Rousey then lost the evening’s Main Event, though, being defeated, along with Charlotte Flair, in a triple threat match with Becky Lynch.
This was the first Main Event featuring women in WrestleMania history.
“Bad Reputation” is one of Jett’s signature songs and the title track of her 1981 solo debut album.
Jett and the Blackhearts currently have four more New Jersey appearances scheduled.
They will be at radio station WMMR-FM’s all-day MMR*B*Q concert (along with Shinedown, The Struts and others) at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, May 18, and will return to that venue for a show with Heart and Elle King on Aug. 2. They will also be at the Sea.Hear.Now festival in Asbury Park, Sept. 21, and at BergenPAC in Englewood, Sept. 22.
