Kaplansky, Weeklings, Maddock to perform in Long Beach Island summer series

For the second year in a row, the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences’ performance space in Loveladies will host a music series. It begins June 14 with singer-songwriter Lucy Kaplansky, plus opening act John Magill.

The band The Weeklings will follow, with Beatles covers and Beatles-inspired originals, on June 21. And James Maddock, with opening act Matt O’Ree & Eryn Shewell, will close out the series on June 28.

The three Thursday night shows are at 8 p.m., and are BYOB. Advance tickets are available through eventbrite.com.

The Weeklings, incidentally, have a number of other shows scheduled in their home state for this summer (for information, visit weeklings.com). Here is a run-down:

June 14: The Dome at The Manor, West Orange.
June 16: The Stone Pony, Asbury Park. Max Weinberg’s Jukebox show.
June 29: Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City. Max Weinberg’s Jukebox show.
June 30: Sayreville Independence Day Celebration at Kennedy Park.
July 27: Somers Point Beach Concert Series.
July 31: Woodbridge High School Field.
Aug. 7: Middletown Arts Center.
