Remember Jones will perform Tom Jones songs in Holmdel, Aug. 23-25.

Remember Jones and a 17-piece band will perform Tom Jones’ 1969 Live in Las Vegas album in its entirety at The Bell Theater at Bell Works in Holmdel, Aug. 23-24 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. For tickets, visit belltheater.org/jones-sings-jones.

In a Facebook post, Remember Jones says the show will feature “many other surprises” as well. (The graphic accompanying this post mentions “What’s New Pussycat?,” which is not on Live in Las Vegas but is one of Tom Jones’ signature songs, so it is safe to expect that one.)

Remember Jones has previously presented tribute shows devoted to songs by artists such as Queen, Amy Winehouse, Meat Loaf, Joe Cocker & Friends (as heard on the Mad Dogs and Englishmen album) and Kanye West.

Live in Las Vegas was recorded at The Flamingo Hotel in the summer of 1969, and released later that year. It rose to No. 3 on Billboard magazine’s albums chart. Tom Jones was at the height of his popularity around this time, with a television variety show of his own, “This Is Tom Jones.”

Tom Jones himself will, incidentally, be in New Jersey not long after these shows, with an appearance booked at The Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Sept. 15. He remains a dynamic performer at 84, and released his latest album, Surrounded by Time, in 2021.
