Kelly Ripa — who will publish her first book, “Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories,” on Sept. 27 — will bring her book tour to the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Sept. 28. Tickets, which will include a copy of the book, go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 5, with presales beginning Aug. 3; visit ticketmaster.com.
The New Jersey Hall of Famer’s husband, Mark Conseulos, will appear with her in Red Bank. The tour will also include appearances at Symphony Space in Manhattan, Sept. 29 (with Anderson Cooper) and the NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, N.Y., on Sept. 30 (with Bethenny Frankel).
The book will be published by Dey Street Books/HarperCollins Publishers. According to the HarperCollins web site, “Live Wire” is “A sharp, funny, and honest collection of real-life stories from Kelly Ripa, showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host. … Kelly shows what really makes her tick.
“As a professional, as a wife, as a daughter and as a mother, she brings a hard-earned wisdom and an eye for the absurdity of life to every minute of every day. … Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment) Kelly always tells it like it is.”
