LISA LOWELL

Lisa Lowell will be the subject of the next interview in the “What’s Up on E Street?” online series presented by the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch. Besides being a singer-songwriter in her own right, Lowell toured with Springsteen as a member of the Sessions Band in 2006 and has performed with him on other occasions as well, and appeared on Springsteen albums including Lucky Town, The Ghost of Tom Joad, Devils & Dust and Wrecking Ball. She also sang with Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell in their own group before any of them were associated with Springsteen, and has performed with Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes and David Johansen.

“Patti Scialfa, Soozie Tyrell, and Lisa Lowell are the first ladies of Jersey Shore rock & roll,” said Bob Santelli, who will be conducting the interview, in a press release. “Lisa’s story is especially interesting, as she’s led such an incredible music life.”

The interview will be available March 23 at 10 a.m. at springsteenarchives.org and the Archives’ Facebook page.

Previous shows in the “What’s Up on E Street?” series have focused on Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, Max Weinberg. NJArts.net is compiling them, as well as the videos in the Archives’ “Soundstage” series (whose subjects have included David Sancious, Tom Morello, Arlo Guthrie and others), here.
