LUKAS NELSON

Willie Nelson, who has missed the first four shows on his Outlaw Music Festival tour because of illness, will miss this weekend’s shows as well, including the June 30 date at The PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.

According to a message posted on social media today:

“Willie Nelson has been cleared by his doctors to go back on the road again.

“He will resume performing on the Outlaw Tour next week.

“Willie will not be on this weekend’s dates.

“Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, (and) Celisse will perform as scheduled for all shows this weekend.

“In addition, Lukas Nelson and Family along with some special guests will play his own set which will include Willie’s classics and other songs.”

Lukas Nelson, who is Willie’s son, usually performs with his own group Promise of the Real. “Family” refers to Willie Nelson’s usual backing group.

The Outlaw Music Festival is also scheduled to come to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on July 4, with Maren Morris, Mavis Staples and Bowen*Young (featuring “Nashville” actress Clare Bowen and her husband, Brandon Young) in addition to Dylan, Plant & Krauss, and Celisse.

Willie Nelson is 91. The illness he is dealing with has not been publicly revealed.
