Madonna kicked off her tour in Montreal last night.

Read no further if you want to be surprised when Madonna performs at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Oct. 3 (or if you’re planning to see her at Madison Square Garden, Sept. 16-17, or the Barclays Center, Sept. 19). But she kicked her Rebel Heart Tour last night in Montreal, and here are some details.

She played plenty of hits, including “Like a Virgin,” “Material Girl,” “Music” and “Holiday,” but also songs from her March Rebel Heart album, such as “Living for Love,” “Devil Pray,” “Iconic,” “Bitch I’m Madonna” and “Unapologetic Bitch.” “Who’s That Girl” and “True Blue” were performed acoustically.

According to a press release, “Fan-created artwork was featured in a video montage shown during Madonna’s performance of the song ‘Rebel Heart,’ and her rendition of ‘La Vie En Rose’ played on just a ukulele received and overwhelming standing ovation from the audience.”

Also according to the press release:

“1000 plus wardrobe pieces are required for all the performers onstage.

500 pair of shoes have been custom made.

200 plus pair of fishnets will be worn by Madonna by the time the Rebel Tour wraps.

180 the number of people working and traveling on the Rebel Heart Tour.

121 Days of Rehearsal before the opening night of the tour in Montreal.”
