To celebrate the vinyl re-release of Marah’s 2000 album Kids in Philly — one of the greatest rock albums of the 2000s, in my opinion — the band will play the album in its entirety at a few reunion shows this year, including one at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Dec. 11. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon; visit stoneponyonline.com.
Brothers Dave and Serge Bielanko will both perform at the Pony; Serge left the band in 2008, though he did return for some shows in 2011.
According to a message on the band’s web site, marah-usa.com, the vinyl released is master “from the original ½” analog tapes.” Also, according to the web site:
The “Kids in Philly” Vinyl Package includes CD + DL card with bonus material (9 extra songs) plus a beautiful insert poster with Dave’s new liner notes. KIP is out 10/6/15 (Valley Farm Songs) and is now available on the merch page of this website. The record will also be available at the shows. And the new digital master (a snapshot of the true analog master) including bonus material will soon be available for download online everywhere.
