For the last 35 days, Melissa Etheridge has been presenting daily 30- to 40-minute mini-shows at 3 p.m. PST (6 p.m EST) on Facebook, on which she plays music and talks. On today’s show, she said that one show this week will be devoted to the music of Bruce Springsteen.
After joking about doing a Barry Manilow day, she said, emphatically, “We will do a Bruce Springsteen day this week. Yes! We’re going to rock.”
The only clue she gave about which day it will be is that it’s not going to be April 20. “A lot of guitar solos … I’m just sayin’,” she said about the 4/20 show.
(UPDATE: Etheridge announced on the April 20 show that the Springsteen show will be on Fri., April 24.)
She also said she will keep doing the daily Facebook shows until at least May 15.

There have been some other special songs along the way. Show 27, for instance, was devoted to Janis Joplin, and Show 35 was “Piano Day” for Etheridge, who more customarily plays guitar.
Etheridge has frequently talked about Springsteen’s huge influence on her music, and the two have performed together several times.
Below are videos of Etheridge’s Janis Joplin Facebook show, and of Etheridge and Springsteen performing Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” together on Etheridge’s 1995 “MTV Unplugged” special.
