Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival will present an online discussion between Jane Fonda and Chelsea Clinton, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. They will talk about Fonda’s new book, “What Can I Do? My Path from Climate Despair to Action,” and more, and answer questions from audience members.
“What Can I Do?,” released in September, is described in publicity material as “A call to action from Jane Fonda … urging us to wake up to the looming disaster of climate change and equipping us with the tools we need to join her in protest.”
Proceeds from the conversation will go to Succeed2gether, a Montclair-based nonprofit organization that helps provide educational resources for low-income families in Essex County.
Tickets, priced at $35, include the book, access to the online conversation, and a $10 gift certificate from Amanti Vino, a wine store in Montclair. $65 tickets also include a copy of last year’s “The Book of Gutsy Women,” co-written by Chelsea Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton; $150 tickets include signed copies of both books.

This year’s Montclair Literary Festival was originally scheduled to take place in March but was moved to September, online.
Regarding the future, festival director Jacqueline Mroz said in a press release: “Despite the continuing uncertainty, plans for the 2021 festival are going really well. In March, we are planning to showcase authors from around the world in S2G’s Montclair Literary Festival Goes Global. The main Festival, now scheduled for early October 2021, will be a hybrid event, with a combination of live and online events.”
Those interested in becoming involved with the festival as a sponsor, starting with the Fonda/Clinton event, can contact Mroz at jmroz@succeed2gether.org.
