The Tesla Quartet will perform in Morris Township, Aug. 13.

The Morris Museum in Morris Township — which has reopened and is currently presenting jazz concerts outdoors, on its elevated parking deck — has added a quartet of string-quartet shows in the same location in August and September.

Performers in the museum’s Lot of Strings Music Festival will include:

Aug. 13: Tesla Quartet. “Variations on a Russian Theme” program includes Pavel Karmanov’s String quaREtet and Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 1 in D Major, Op.11.

Aug. 20: JACK Quartet. Program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, John Luther Adams, John Zorn and others.

Aug. 27: Attacca Quartet. Program includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 12 in E Flat Major, Op. 127 and String Quartet No. 13 in B Flat Major, Op. 130 with gross fugue.

Sept. 3: Catalyst Quartet. Program includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (arrangement by the Catalyst Quartet) and Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 3, “Mishima.”

Shows will begin at 7:30 p.m., with the space opening at 6 p.m. Rain dates are the day after each show.

Attendees should bring a chair (and refreshments, if they wish) and will be assigned to an eight-foot-by-eight-foot block of space that can be used by one or two people; this will allow them to stay a safe distance from other attendees. Masks must be worn, except for when attendees are eating or drinking in their own blocks.
