The New Jersey Hall of Fame has released a video of the 2023 induction ceremony in its entirety. You can watch it below.
The event, which was hosted by Danny DeVito, took place Oct. 29 at NJPAC in Newark. Among the highlights were:
• Patti Scialfa’s acceptance speech, and Bruce Springsteen’s induction speech for her.
• “The Sopranos” creator David Chase’s acceptance speech, and “Sopranos” actor Steven Van Zandt’s induction speech for him.
• Tony Orlando’s acceptance speech, Dionne Warwick’s induction speech for him, and his performance of “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree.”
• The group finale, featuring Joe Cocker’s arrangement of The Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends,” sung by Freedom Bremner and former Billy Joel band member Mark Rivera with support from Springsteen, Scialfa, Orlando, Van Zandt and the Glen Burtnik-led house band.
• 2018 New Jersey’s Hall of Fame inductees The Smithereens’ performance of “Behind the Wall of Sleep,” with Marshall Crenshaw on guitar and lead vocals and Graham Maby on bass.
• 2017 New Jersey Hall of Fame inductee Gloria Gaynor’s performance of “I Will Survive.”
• Former Rolling Stones backing vocalist Lisa Fischer’s performance on The Stones’ “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It).”
