Paper Mill Playhouse expands series of outdoor shows to include cover bands

The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn is adding cover bands to the mix in the series of outdoor shows it is presenting at its F.M. Kirby Carriage House Restaurant, with four Wednesday shows: The Grateful Dead cover band This Old Engine on Sept. 30, followed by the Spare Tire Band, Oct. 7; Soular Bone, Oct. 14; and Squeaky Wheels, Oct. 21.

On other days, it will continue to present cabaret, Broadway and jazz singers.

Here is the current schedule:

Sept. 16: Nicholas Rodriguez
Sept. 17: Kyle Taylor Parker, “An Evening of Broadway Soul”
Sept. 19: Gavin Lee, “Steppin’ Out With Fred Astaire”
Sept. 23 and Oct. 1-3: Kathryn Allison
Sept. 24: Dwayne Clark, “A Tribute to Ray Charles”
Sept. 26: Rema Webb, “A Tribute to Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald”
Sept. 30: This Old Engine
Oct. 7: Spare Tire Band
Oct. 8-10: Kelli Rabke with pianist John Fischer and guitarist Sean Harkness
Oct. 14: Soular Bone
Oct. 15-17: Elizabeth Ward Land with Matt Castle, “Still Within the Sound of My Voice: The Songs of Linda Ronstadt”
Oct. 21: Squeaky Wheels
Oct. 22-24: Susan Speidel and Joe Regan
