As part of WhyHunger’s annual Hungerthon, the Acoustic Café at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Park Ridge will present a Songwriters Circle show, Nov. 20, with all proceeds benefiting WhyHunger and the OLM Haiti Scholarship Fund.
Willie Nile, Marshall Crenshaw and Joe D’Urso will perform together, playing songs and talking about them, after an opening Songwriters Circle set by Chris Brown, Sarah Chesler and Isabella Englert.
The show will begin at 4:30 p.m., and tickets are $27 in advance ($28.15 after online processing fee), or $32 at the door. Also, non-perishable food items will be collected for a local food pantry. Visit cafeacoustic.org.
D’Urso is on the board of directors of WhyHunger, which was co-founded in 1975 by Harry Chapin, and was formerly known as World Hunger Year. The Hungerthon will feature a variety of other events, and an online auction. Visit hungerthon.org.
