Pinebox Boyz will debut their new single on WDFU’s “Morning Dew” program.

Damiam Calcagne — well known to New Jersey music fans as a member of Swampadelica and the Damian Calcagne Band as well as for his work with From Good Homes, Railroad Earth and others — will debut the first single from his new band, Pinebox Boyz, April 25 at 10 p.m. on the WFDU program, “Morning Dew.” Listen at 89.1 FM or online at wfdu.fm.

“Morning Dew” host Bob O’Donnell will interview Calcagne and Pinebox Boyz member Mike Buckman (who also has played in the John Ginty Band) along with Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck of the band Midnight North. Peck is featured on the debut album that Pinebox Boyz are currently working on; other tracks from it will be played on “Morning Dew” as well.

The band is named after Calcagne’s recording studio, The PineBox, which has an unusual history. For more on the studio, visit damiancalcagne.com/new-gallery.

The three-hour “Morning Dew” show will also feature a tribute to the late horn player and arranger Peter Ecklund, who worked extensively with artists such as David Bromberg, Leon Redbone and Geoff Muldaur, and did session work for Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Forbert and many others. Ecklund died recently of Parkinson’s Disease, at the age of 74.
