Adam Ant made a rare New Jersey appearance at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, July 21.

Forty years after the release of his first single, British new wave star Adam Ant is on a short United States tour that included concerts at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, July 21, and the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, July 20.

Below is a photo gallery from the Asbury Park show by Wes Orshoski, and some videos from the show event.

The tour is called Anthems: The Singles Tour, and setlists so far have included the initial 1978 Adam & the Ants single, “Young Parisians,” as well as later hits by the group as well as by Ant as a solo artist, including “Antmusic,” “Stand and Deliver,” “Prince Charming,” “Goody Two Shoes,” “Kings of the Wild Frontier” and “Dog Eat Dog.”

Adam & the Ants disbanded in 1982. Ant’s latest album, Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner’s Daughter, came out in 2013.
