The 11th annual Rock, Ribs and Ridges festival — which had been scheduled to take place at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, June 27-28 — has been postponed to June 26-27, 2021.
A statement on the festival’s web site says: “The health and safety of our patrons, artists, staff, partners and the local community is our foremost concern. We all want the coronavirus pandemic to be over with as soon as possible, and we’re anxious to come together and party, but we can’t in good conscience say it’s safe to do so in late June.
“New Jersey’s public health emergency has been extended through June 6. We don’t know when the ‘all clear’ signal — including an end to social distancing — will come, which makes rescheduling the fairgrounds, our musical acts, sponsorship partners and support staff almost impossible.”
Some of the 2020 acts — Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Kyle Daniel, Blackfoot and the Screamin’ Eagle Band — are confirmed for 2021, as is Artimus Pyle. However, the rest of the 2021 lineup has not been announced yet.
Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, Don Felder, the Pat Travers Band, The Weight Band and The Matt Coffy Band were on the 2020 schedule but are not currently on the 2021 schedule, though some or all, of course, could be added.
Tickets already bought for 2020 can be used in 2021, but refunds will also be available. Organizers say that on May 12, they will send an email with instructions to all who have bought tickets.
