Maplewoodstock started in 2004 as a one-day festival with a few local bands. It has grown so much over the years, though, that it is now a two-day event, with national as well as local acts, and it attracts around 7,500 people.
As it was in its first year, though, it is still free.
This year’s event takes place July 9 and 10 at Maplewood’s Memorial Park, with a headliner as well as a featured artist each day: Railroad Earth and Maya Azucena on July 9, and NRBQ (led by co-founder Terry Adams) and Nicole Atkins on July 10. There will be 23 acts overall, as well as art displays, food vendors and children’s activities.
Here is the schedule. For more information, visit maplewoodstock.com. (If there are any late changes to the schedule due to weather or any other reason, they will be announced at twitter.com/maplewoodstock.)
