Shawn Colvin released a 30th anniversary acoustic version of her 1989 debut album, Steady On, in September, and has announced a tour on which she will perform it in its entirety, as well as other songs. Stops will include the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair on May 1, and the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College in Toms River on May 3.
Tickets for both shows go on sale Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. Visit or outpostintheburbs.org or grunincenter.org/event/shawn-colvin. For both shows, VIP tickets will be available that will include a pre-show performance, a Q&A session and other extras.
Steady On featured songs such as “Diamond in the Rough,” “Shotgun Down the Avalanche,” “Cry Like an Angel” and the title track, and won a Grammy in the Contemporary Folk Album category.
The tour will start in April. In November and December, Colvin will tour as half of an acoustic duo with Mary Chapin Carpenter.
That tour comes to the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, Nov. 7; visit mccarter.org.
