The South Orange Performing Arts Center will kick off a series of live-streamed shows from its stage, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m., with a performance by Tony-nominated Broadway actress and recording artist Christiane Noll.
The show, titled “Am I Losing My Mind?,” will features songs from musicals such as “Ragtime,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Follies,” “Company” and “The Bridges of Madison County.” Noll, who lives in Maplewood, will be backed by a small group including her music director, William Waldrop, on piano, Celeste Cumming on cello and Billy Bivona on guitar and French horn.
Next up in the series, The Montclair Orchestra will perform Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The program will include William Grant Still’s Suite for Violin and Piano — featuring Montclair Orchestra music director David Chan on violin and Terrence Wilson on piano — plus music by Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Piazzolla, Bizet and Shostakovich.
The shows are free for SOPAC members, $10 per ticket link for non-members.
SOPAC is also streaming a variety of events from other locations. These include “An Evening With Bret Stephens,” Oct. 1; “An Evening of New York Songs and Stories with Suzanne Vega,” Oct. 7; and “Richard Thompson: Live From London,” Oct. 11.
